I'm a lecturer in film, my main research interest is in film music and how popular songs shape representations of non-dominant identities. I've also done research on radical screening practices and organised film events using the interrupted screening model, which arises from this research. Instead of discussing films at the end, timed intervals are scheduled for small-group discussions and there isn't one 'expert figure' leading these debates. My expectation is to meet participants who are exploring other radical screening practices and who might be willing to adopt the interrupted screening model for their own film event.
