I'm a PhD student at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. My research focuses on the cultural aspect of international relations. More specifically, I'm interested in the ways films were used in the 1950s and 1960s as a means of cultural diplomacy in order to promote intercultural understanding between the East and the West. I'm interested in how studying this can broaden and challenge our conceptions of the meaning of intercultural understanding as a means of maintaining peace today.
